Jungian Psychotherapy and Dreamwork

As a Jungian Psychotherapist in Houston, Texas, I offer Jungian approaches to individuals interested in Jungian Analysis and Psychotherapy, which includes the use of dreams.

Jungian psychotherapy (Analysis) is a form of depth psychology that originated from the ideas of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychiatrist.  It is distinct from psychoanalysis but also has a number of similarities.  Jungian psychotherapy (Analysis) holds that individuals have an aspect of their psyches that is unconscious, and which is the source of healing and development.  In addition to talk therapy, Jungian psychotherapy (Analysis) employs dreams as a way of accessing the unconscious aspects of the individual, providing insights into deeply hidden motivations and concerns.

Carl Jung worked extensively with dreams and brought to light their self-healing potentials that can be furthered by engaging in active dreamwork.    With some attention given to these nightly visitors, the practice of dreamwork can add a useful and practical dimension to traditional talk therapy.
